Teaching your teen to drive
doesn't have to be
terrifying or frustrating.
Parent's Survival Guide
5 Solutions to Common Teen Driving Mistakes

This guide is for you - the parent - to help you better coach your new driver.
In this guide, you'll find the strategies and phrases I use with my students in the car, every day.

Do you see your new driver making these same mistakes, over and over?

1) Accelerating toward red traffic lights or brake lights
2) Rolling through Stop signs
3) Driving way too fast or too slow
4) Tunnel Vision
5) Death Grip on the steering wheel
You CAN teach your teen driver,
and you don't have to be terrified or frustrated.
Teaching your teen is hard.
Teaching your teenager how to drive can be stressful and frustrating. You want them to become a good driver so they can be safe as they experience this new found independence.

But it's hard to see them behind the wheel and not think of them as a little child.
They don't seem to listen.
They're driving too fast or they don't stop soon enough, and you start to panic. You tell them to slow down or look out, but it doesn't seem to help.

I get it. I've been there with my own daughters.
but you can help them.
I work with parents and teenagers every day who go through the same thing.

After coaching hundreds of new drivers over the past 15 years, I've developed the strategies and phrases to use with students to help them become safe, defensive drivers.

Meet your safe driving coach:
Todd Avery
For the past 15 years, I have coached hundreds of drivers, teaching them the "rules of the road,” how to be safe, be defensive and to always expect the unexpected.

Teaching and coaching new drivers is my passion.
My philosophy is quite simple:
“I want the safest, most responsible, most attentive drivers on the road."
